Kreativ Koalas: Illustration, Fashion & Textile Design 2026

Instructor: Nicole Melnicky
Join our Saturday morning fashion classes designed for creative kids who love drawing, design, and self-expression. This hands-on course introduces students to the fundamentals of fashion illustration, textile design, and garment construction in a fun, supportive, and confidence-building environment.
Led by fashion educator Ms. Melnicky, with over 10 years of teaching experience, students will explore the creative process from concept to creation. Through guided projects, students will learn sketching, draping, drafting, sewing, and textile pattern repeat, while developing their own unique design voice.
Inspired by bold color, playful pattern, and expressive fashion, students will design original outfits, experiment with fabric and mixed materials, and build a strong foundation in fashion thinking and creative problem-solving.
This class is ideal for students ages 8–13 (Grade 4 and up) who are curious about fashion, illustration, and working with textiles.
Students will build confidence and creativity while developing essential skills in:
Fashion illustration and sketching
Color theory and fabric design
Pattern, texture, and surface decoration
Creative storytelling through fashion
All materials are included. We use high-quality art and textile materials from Opus, Michaels, and Fabricland.
Let your child explore the world of fashion and design this spring, one creative idea at a time!
Registration takes 10–15 minutes to complete.
