Join us this summer for a fun-filled week of fashion, creativity, and self-expression! Our hands-on Fashion Camp introduces young designers to the exciting world of fashion illustration, textile design, and garment construction in a supportive and confidence-building environment.
Running Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, this full-day camp is perfect for students ages 7 to 15 (Grades 3 and up) who love drawing, creating, and bringing their ideas to life through fashion.
Led by fashion educator Nicole Melnicky, who has over 10 years of teaching experience, students will explore the creative process from concept to creation. Throughout the week, campers will learn fashion sketching, draping, beginner pattern drafting, hand sewing, textile pattern design, and surface decoration while developing their own unique design style.
Inspired by bold colour, playful patterns, and expressive fashion, students will design original outfits, create custom textile prints, experiment with fabric and mixed media, and complete exciting fashion projects that encourage imagination and creative problem-solving.
Throughout the week, students will build confidence while developing essential skills in:
• Fashion illustration and sketching
• Draping fabric on mini mannequins
• Beginner pattern drafting and garment construction
• Colour theory and textile design
• Pattern, texture, and surface decoration
• Hand sewing techniques
• Creative storytelling through fashion
Every student will leave camp with a portfolio of original fashion illustrations, textile designs, sewn projects, and creative work to showcase what they have learned.
